Private Forestry Programme Application Form

The Private Forestry Programme (PFP) provides free timber seedlings and technical advice to landowners/lessees as incentives to plant trees.



Instructions to Applicants

1. Please complete this form. A copy will be kept for your records and it will be submitted to one of our locations for review


2. Along with the completed application form, applicants are REQUIRED to submit documentation to support proof of ownership/lawful possession of the property/ planting site.


3. The application will be reviewed and if approved, the applicant will be contacted by a Forestry Department representative to arrange a preliminary visit to the property/ planting site. The applicant or his/her, agent/designate is required to be present at the site during this visit.


4. Recommendations based on the preliminary visit will be communicated to the applicant.


5. For successful applicants, the waiting period for the delivery of your first batch of seedlings should, under normal circumstances, be no longer than six (6) months. In the event that this timeline has to be revisited, contact will be made with you by a representative of the Forestry Department prior to the scheduled delivery date.

Note: Due to circumstances beyond our control, requested species and/or quantities may not always be available at your desired planting time. The Forestry Department will notify you to make alternative arrangements if the status of your seedling order changes.

I / We, , being the owner(s) / lessee (s) of property located at in the parish of , hereby agree that in the event of my / our application being approved I /we agree to take such reasonable steps:


1. To protect the planted area at all times from any disaster that is within my/our control ( e.g.,cattle, fire and trespass)


2. To carry out such management operations as the Forestry Department may recommend regarding the maintaining of planted property


3. To keep accurate records of all expenditures relative to planting and maintenance of trees (e.g.,work, fertilizers, materials, etc);


4. To allow authorized personnel from the Forestry Department to conduct periodic site visits. ( All such visits shall be contingent upon the Forestry Department notifying the private planter of the intent to conduct the site visit, at least three(3) days prior to such visit.Site visits shall not be conducted without the presence of the land owner/lessee of the land or a person designated by the land owner /lessee)
